3D Body Scanning
I am currently working on analyzing the unique body proportions of Indian plus-size women, as traditional sizing systems often fail to accommodate their diverse shapes. Given that plus-size body proportions do not change uniformly, my research focuses on identifying key variations through cluster analysis. By developing a more inclusive and data-driven approach, I aim to bridge the gap in standardized sizing and improve fit satisfaction for plus-size consumers.
Zero Waste Pattern Cutting
Fabric waste remains a significant challenge in apparel manufacturing, and traditional pattern-cutting techniques often lead to inefficiencies. While Zero-Waste Pattern Cutting (ZWPC) has been widely explored in Western fashion, its application in traditional garments like the kurta is still underdeveloped. I am actively working to bridge this gap by exploring how ZWPC can optimize fabric utilization for kurta silhouettes. Through innovative pattern-cutting techniques and digital tools, we aim to enhance sustainability while maintaining the design integrity of traditional apparel.
Transformable Products
I am currently working on the development of transformable products—innovative designs that seamlessly adapt to multiple functions, offering versatility and sustainability. These products redefine fashion by integrating modularity, adjustability, and multifunctionality, addressing both aesthetic appeal and practical utility.
