Clothing sizing is essential in fashion, directly influencing comfort, confidence, and customer satisfaction. However, achieving accurate sizing remains a challenge due to diverse body shapes. Traditional systems, often based on outdated data, cause inconsistencies across brands, making it difficult for consumers to find the right fit. Many global brands follow Western standards, which may not accommodate different populations. Advances in body measurement technologies like 3D scanning and anthropometric analysis have enabled more precise sizing solutions. Inclusive sizing, particularly for plus-size consumers, is a growing demand, addressing long-standing issues of ill-fitting garments. My research focuses on developing standardized size charts for plus-size Indian women. The future of sizing lies in AI-based tools, virtual fitting rooms, and mass customization, ensuring a more accurate, inclusive, and sustainable approach to fashion while enhancing the consumer experience.
